Researcher, Serious Games Australia New Zealand
Kathleen Yin is a serious games advocate and researcher, and the founder of Serious Games Australia New Zealand, the only association that brings together professionals working in the serious games field in the region.
Internationally, she is a member of the Steering Committee for the IGDA Serious Games Special Interest Group, and her work in serious games has been acknowledged with an IGDA Next Gen Leader award and an IGDA Serious Games Volunteer MVP award in 2018. She has been assisting with the Serious Games Showcase & Challenge Australasia, and was one of the organisers of the serious games track at the Gathering of Healthcare Simulation Technology Specialists conference in 2018.
Her day job at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation at Macquarie University involves researching gamification in health, while she also dabbles in analysing commercial games with serious intention in the off hours.
