Andrew Rowse

Lead Programmer, PikPok

Andrew got distracted from his neuroscience degree by a hacked-together PS1 devkit, and entered the game industry as a junior programmer at Sidhe Interactive (NZ) in 2005, working on Rugby League 2.

He spent 2 years in Norway making Flash advergames, before moving to London and working for 6 years at Rocksteady Studio as a senior UI and gameplay programmer on the Batman Arkham trilogy. His greatest Bat-achievement was designing and programming Arkham City’s Mr Freeze boss battle, which has been critically praised for its compelling and adaptive AI.

Three years ago he moved back to New Zealand, and has made the leap to mobile games at PikPok, working as lead programmer on Rival Stars College Football. He is part of the technical department’s hiring panel at PikPok.
