More and more games are pushing for meaningful narrative content, but what does that actually mean and what sort of systems do you need to build to support it?
Blair Leggett and Anna Tito talk through the processes of developing the technology to support narrative games. They will introduce you to the conceptual frameworks they have used, as well as dig deeply into some of the critical systems that underpin them such as localisation, approaches to episodic content and testing. Coming from two very different development focuses Blair and Anna will compare and contrast their different approaches while sharing the good, the bad, the ugly and the gotchas behind building a narrative system.
The talk will conclude with a brief discussion about possible future narrative creation technologies.
