GCAP

Game Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) is Australia’s premier game development conference. Held every year during October, the conference spans two days and features a range of talks by industry luminaries. GCAP strives to deliver thought provoking, creative and innovative sessions covering topics ranging from programming, art and design, to business management.

Each year, game developers, publishers, investors, education providers, media, and other key industry players from Australia and across the globe, gather together to discuss the rapidly evolving sector, identifying issues and opportunities affecting the industry.

When? Where?

GCAP will run from Tuesday the 23rd through Wednesday the 24th of October 2018 and will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Entertainment Centre located at 1 Convention Centre Pl, South Wharf VIC 3006.

Who is GCAP aimed at?

GCAP aims to support developers who are at mid to senior levels of their career while remaining accessible to junior developers.  We also work to support disadvantaged developers through initiatives such as GCAP Assist and the International Speakers Program.

Is assistance available for low income attendees?

The GCAP Assist Program is designed to assist early-career individuals and companies that might not have the financial means to attend.

GCAP Assist is limited to 20 delegates.successful applicants will receive a complimentary full conference pass to GCAP and successful interstate applicants are also eligible for up to a small allowance towards travel and accommodation expenses in addition to the conference pass.

Can I submit an idea for a talk at GCAP?

Yes, submissions for talks are currently open until the 23rd July.  Once a submission has been made, it will be reviewed by the GCAP curation team and successful applicants will be contacted.

For International speakers there is also the option of applying for the International speakers program which grants travel and accommodation stipend.

Will GCAP Loading run this year?

Unfortunately GCAP Loading will not run this year. We are currently working on moving this event to a different time of year that is more suited to students. Watch this space for updates.
